Acclimatizing in Historic Lhasa
Today, Tashi and Trevor traveled from Chengdu to Lhasa. They spent the day touring Lhasa.
Lhasa has been the capital of Tibet since the mid-17th century and it contains a number of culturally significant Tibetan Buddhist sites, including the Potala Palace (the main photo above), which was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India during the 1959 Tibetan uprising. It is now a museum and World Heritage Site.
